There’s still a bunch of activity going on in Altered on Board Game Arena this month. So here’s a quick run down on all the tournaments that are being run this month that you can get yourself involved in on BGA.

Discussions with Equinox and their recent data sharing (especially regarding uniques) now allow us to approach the question of formats with the community more confidently.

How voting works Voting is organized per Hero For each Hero, you must rank submitted decks via Google Forms (Available when voting opens on May 9th, 2026)

Altered is going through a transitional period, what with the ending of the Offical Equinox support for the game on 20th May and community led proposals in the offing. As a result of these changes, not even the Altered TCG Blog is immune. Some of the staff here are moving to help the new community site get up to speed and as a result the bulk of the articles that were on here will now be on the new Altered Re:Union site in the future. The owners of the site have therefore taken the decision to close this site down and bring this chapter in Altered TCG’s journey to an end. Before the shutdown of the official services, the community is providing tools to save your card collection and your decks.

The Altered Re:Unon project by the community to keep the game going is moving onwards. The new Altered Re:Union logo was voted on this week and that is the header image for this post. The committee has now had a couple of meetings with Equinox and there has been a lot of agreement on some of the way forwards for the game. On their discord they have put out a google docs statement on the productive elements that came from that meeting as well as their ideas for the future of the game. The official Altered website, managed by Equinox, will shut down its services on May 20, 2026, due to the inability to continue funding the game.

It seems that the Roots of Corruption demo starter decks have quietly been revealed. They were no doubt going to be used for the demo deck tournament for the Roots pre-release, but we get to see them all now instead. Rumours of Altered TCGs demise may be a little premature. The Altered community is so awesome and has gathered together to try and continue the project as a community based venture as the fans of the Netrunner LCG did in the past. The people behind this community led project are currently organising and trying to establish what can and can’t be done with Equinox. This will take a little time, but the goal is to try and have Altered continue as a fan based project with Equinox’s blessing. One of the early goals will be to try to continue BGA as the online tool for the game, but there are many decisions that need to be made for this to go forwards.
